Listowel lady Roisin Gornall moved to Vancouver in 2011 and while managing a clothing store in the Canadian City, Newfoundland native Daniel Letto entered the picture.
“Dan walked in one day for an interview and it was truly love at first sight! We started dating and have been together ever since,” shares Roisin. After seven years of sharing life together Dan, an actor, surprised his one true love with a Christmas Day proposal in the snow outside his family home in 2018. On August 26, 2022, Roisin and Dan said their “I Do’s” at the Church of our Lady of the Assumption, in Rathea, Co. Kerry and celebrated afterwards with family and friends at The Listowel Arms Hotel. Some of the bride’s favourite memories are getting ready at her parent’s house “there was dancing in the kitchen, lots of music and laughing. The music in the church and everyone singing along with ‘Here Comes the Sun’ as I walked down the aisle with my dad. Hugging friends and family outside the church after the ceremony, some I hadn’t seen in years! Eating ice cream cones in Ballybunion while taking wedding photos. A very wild ‘Siege of Ennis’ and dancing the night away with my dearest friends. All the well wishes from strangers and just the general outpouring of love and kindness is something I’ll never forget.”
How was your experience at The Listowel Arms Hotel?
“Our experience from the first meeting with Patrice in The Listowel Arms Hotel, right up to the day itself was just a joy. We live in Canada, so obviously planning a wedding in a different time zone adds a layer of complication, but even with that Patrice still made it a breeze. She understood our vision and taste right away and worked with us to ensure everything was just right. She took all the stress out of planning the reception and walked us through everything. On the day, the hotel was decorated so beautifully; the flowers, centre pieces, every tiny detail was just stunning. Not only that, but the food was incredible, and the service was second to none. Patrice and the whole team at the Listowel Arms Hotel made sure all of our guests, and ourselves, were so well taken care of - we couldn’t have been happier with everything they did.”
