On November 5, 2022, the intimate wedding of Aoife Thanner and Tom Yemm took place at Jack’s Coastguard Restaurant, Cromane with 60 close friends and families in attendance.
The Backstory
This story begins on the stairs of a hostel in Chaing Mai, Thailand, where two solo travellers really hit it off in a discussion about Thai food. After spending time together travelling, Aoife returned to her home in Kerry and Tom to Manchester, but their relationship continued to develop. After five years of dating and living together in Berlin, Tom asked Aoife to be his forever as they prepared to move to Mexico City.
On the morning of November 5, 2022, Aoife and Tom got ready together for their big day. Aoife did her own makeup and Tom decorated the car with ribbons. Despite there being weather warnings the day before, it was a fabulous November morning. Aoife walked up the aisle at Jack’s to the sound of “Inis Oirr” played by her friend Deirdre.
After the exchange of some exquisite custom-made wedding rings from Mexico City and a beautiful ceremony put together by their good friend Aidan Byrne, the newlyweds alongside their 60 guests, enjoyed a tasty meal of either steak, cod or veggie ravioli. As the dinner ended and the partying began Aoife and her new husband took to the floor for their first dance to “When You Were Sweet Sixteen” by The Fureys. They later went on to surprise their guests with a little taste of Mexico by bringing out a pinata full of spicy Mexican sweets supplied by their photographer Alejandra Cardenas.
