Although we are playing with two hues from the same colour here, blue certainly screams winter warmers. Think ahead to having a modern winter wonderland. Imagine twinkling sky lights, a dusty blue wedding cake, invitations, setting the tone for your big day, in light blue and mixing the colours in your bridesmaid dresses. These blue shades scream vibrant, elegant and give off a vibe of individuality also.
Now we’re heading down the road of sophistication and warmth. Mixing these three tones together is like finding a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, everyone is excited. Leading with the raspberry red and subtly adding in gold and magenta will create a chic look that no one will expect. Your bridesmaids could rock the raspberry colours while adding magenta throughout the décor and gold can dominate certain items like your cake, invites etc.
Do we need vibrant winter colours to ensure our wedding screams elegant and chic? No you don’t. There is nothing more sophisticated than the colour white. White flowers, a white cake, white décor and so much more white options. You could even go as far as white bridesmaid dresses also. The bride could choose a champagne colour dress to stand out from the rest. White is obviously a very popular colour for destination weddings but it’s also a great winter theme.
Navy and gold are certainly two strong colours we think of when opting for winter wedding hues. Both compliment the other splendidly and, yet, they don’t go over the top. They are subtle and elegant. If you could source metallic gold chairs, plates, and glasses you could be on to a real winner here. Navy would look fabulous on bridesmaids and infused beautifully into your wedding bouquet and invites. There is a touch of industrial off this theme and it’s huge in the States.
There is nothing more wintery than these combined colours. Your base colour here is cream but you can really infuse winter by adding copper and green. You’ll be spoilt for foliage hues (think eucalyptus garlands) and copper will throw it in all into disarray (in a good way). These tones together are warm and welcoming and guests will love them.
If you are after the winter cosy vibe then we suggest turning your attention to gold and rich plum. These colours are ideal for a smaller wedding, one with a more intimate vibe that oozes relaxation and celebration all together. Talk to your florists about these colour combos and if you are hiring a décor company maybe both can work together to get the exact vibe these colours are supposed to create.
