Bridal Beauty Timeline

From tan to hair, lashes and nails, there is an endless amount of beauty appointments that need to be considered in the run up to your wedding day. If you’re having trouble scheduling it all in, here are some of our recommendations for you to get it all right.

6-12 Months

It may seem a bit hasty, but this can be a great time to fit in some prep work that will go a long way in helping you feel your best on your wedding day.

- If you wish to treat any skin problems before the wedding, now is a good time to speak to your GP or make an appointment with a dermatologist. Similarly, try to get yourself into a good skincare regime now to ensure you have the best complexion on the big day.

- This is also the time to incorporate any other prep work such as hair or nail treatments into your routine.

- There’s no harm in starting to research beauticians and hairdressers at this time. If you don’t have any particular beauty or hair expert you’re set on, do some browsing and ask around to see if any of your married pals have any recommendations.

3-5 Months

At this stage, you should have your chosen beautician and hair expert booked for all the things you need in the lead up as well as your, on the day, hairstylist and make up artist. This is also the ideal time period for nailing down the look you want for your special day.

- Book some trial runs with your stylist and make up artist to ensure you’re happy with your overall look.

- Find some pictures of hair styles and make up looks you like and bring these along to your trials to help explain your vision.

- If you don’t regularly wax but are considering doing so for your special day, try it out in advance to ensure you don’t have any allergic reactions to the products used. Similarly, if you want a spray tan for your special day, book a trial run now (perfect for the hen party) to ensure you’re happy with the colour.

1-2 Weeks

- Book appointments for your pre-wedding nails, tan, wax, eyelashes or any other areas you wish to touch up in the days before you wedding.

- Try engage in some light exercise to give you that natural and healthy glow on your special day.

- Drink two litres of water every day.

1 Week

You’re almost there! Now it’s time for the finishing touches.

- Attend your nail, tan, eyelash or wax appointments.

- If necessary, finalise times and details with your hair and make up artists.

- Try to cut down on the amount of make-up you wear over the next few days to help avoid breakouts.

- Pamper yourself! All of the hard work is done now and this is the time to relax with your favourite face mask or hair treatment. Just don’t try any new products this close to the special day to avoid any unwanted reactions.

Traditionally, bridesmaids have worn the same dress to create a cohesive and uniform look. This practice dates back to ancient times when bridesmaids were tasked with protecting the bride from evil spirits or potential suitors. By dressing identically, it was believed that the bridesmaids could confuse any ill-intentioned individuals and ensure the bride’s safety. Over time, this tradition evolved into a way to symbolise the unity and support of the bridal party. By wearing the same dress, bridesmaids visually demonstrate their commitment to the bride and her special day. It also helps to create a sense of harmony and balance in the overall wedding aesthetic. However, in recent years, there has been a shift towards more individuality and personal expression in weddings. Many brides are now opting for a more modern approach, allowing their bridesmaids to wear different dresses that suit their individual styles and body types. This change reflects a desire to celebrate the unique personalities and preferences of each bridesmaid, while still maintaining a cohesive look.
