Choosing the right footwear for you wedding day is not a task which should be taken lightly. Here are some elements that should be considered when choosing and caring for your perfect bridal footwear
When choosing your bridal shoes, you should consider what you want them to do for you. Do you want a couple of extra inches of height or is comfort more of a priority for you? There is no concrete rules about bridal shoes, and no one is saying you have to wear a shoe with or without a heel. If opting for a heel, you should also invest in some flats in case you want to ditch the extra few inches for dancing.
If your gown or overall bridal look is carrying a certain vibe, such as vintage or classy, it’s only natural that you want your shoes to match this. There are no rules about colour either – they can even be your something blue! Have a think about your overall style and what you want your shoes to reflect. This might be more important if your dress is not full length.
After choosing you perfect pair, it’s important to care for them as best you can. Store them in a dry and safe place inside their box. Look into appropriate cleaning tools for the material and colour of your shoes so that you can clean them up after the big day. If your shoes are on show during the day it may also be worth bringing some cleaning materials along with you so they can be touched up before pictures.
This is an easily forgotten point but we would consider it crucial. It’s very important to wear your bridal shoes around your home on a few occasions before the big day so you can break them in and be aware of any areas they may be cutting you in. If they are cutting you anywhere, add some plasters or blister protectors into the emergency kit. If you don’t use them, someone else will.
