Keeping kids Entertained

We all know kids can sometimes be hard to keep an eye on at weddings. The trick to keeping them happy is to keep them entertained. Here are some options that might be able to help you keep the little ones busy and make sure they enjoy the day too.

The Old Reliable

Everybody loves a bouncy castle! These are an absolute gold mine to kids, so consider renting one for your reception venue. Once you get the all clear from your reception venue and there is enough space on the venue surroundings, this is a crowd pleaser, with kids and adults alike.

Bubbles and Balloons

Kids love their little inflatable toys and are great to keep their attention occupied. Opt for some bubbles too that never fail to provide some fun for the younger guests. Just keep an eye out for any balloon popping that might go on, nobody wants a fright!

Games on Grass

There are some great games for the kids to play on the lawn for the evening. Set up some horseshoe throwing, maybe some twister, or even a mini-soccer pitch if you’ve got the running space. Perfect for the longer days in spring and summer.

Arts and Crafts

Create a small arts and crafts area designated for the children that they can work on whatever they want for the evening. Include some Lego, play dough, and colouring pencils. Let the kids get creative to make sure they’re ready for bed when it’s time for them to hit the hay.

Disposable Cameras

Go old school and pick up some disposable cameras. Let the kids run around and take some photos of their favourite parts of the wedding celebrations. Have one of your relatives create a ‘picture hunt’ by giving them some tasks to complete, like taking a picture of the cake, or the bride etc. They’ll love the challenge, and you’ll be able to see the wedding from their perspective too.

Traditionally, bridesmaids have worn the same dress to create a cohesive and uniform look. This practice dates back to ancient times when bridesmaids were tasked with protecting the bride from evil spirits or potential suitors. By dressing identically, it was believed that the bridesmaids could confuse any ill-intentioned individuals and ensure the bride’s safety. Over time, this tradition evolved into a way to symbolise the unity and support of the bridal party. By wearing the same dress, bridesmaids visually demonstrate their commitment to the bride and her special day. It also helps to create a sense of harmony and balance in the overall wedding aesthetic. However, in recent years, there has been a shift towards more individuality and personal expression in weddings. Many brides are now opting for a more modern approach, allowing their bridesmaids to wear different dresses that suit their individual styles and body types. This change reflects a desire to celebrate the unique personalities and preferences of each bridesmaid, while still maintaining a cohesive look. If you’re considering breaking away from the traditional matching bridesmaid dresses, here are some tips on how to do it:
