Advice from past Brides
You’re engaged. Congratulations! So now it’s time to start planning but it’s beginning to feel a little stressful. Fear not, others have walked the road before you. Let us share with you some of their advice on all things wedding planning.

Sandra Reynolds and Brian Hassett The Inn at Dromoland
Clare native Sandra says that being organised in the build-up to the wedding is the best thing a bride can do to alleviate stress. “Order your invites and get them out two months before the wedding. You’re going to be busy in the weeks coming up to the wedding so don’t leave things until the last minute,” Sandra said.
Yvonne O’Brien and Christopher Kelly The Listowel Arms Hotel
Yvonne married Christopher in 2017 and believes that a peaceful space to get ready in is the key start to your wedding day. “I decided to get ready at the hotel with just my mom, sister and little niece. Everything was stress free and I couldn’t have been calmer going into the church,” Yvonne said.
Mandy Case and Ian Leech The Imperial Hotel Cork
Mandy and Ian recommend creating a wedding day that is unique to you. “Follow your instincts, go with what you want and don’t be afraid of adding your own touches,” Mandy revealed. “Invite the people that are most important to you both and most of all enjoy your day. We absolutely did!”
Linda Collins and Donal Lynch Muckross Park Hotel
Organisation was a priority for Kerry bride Linda. “The best advice I could give to other brides is to be organised. Keep a diary for appointments, supplier meetings and dress fittings. Book suppliers that you really want to be part of your wedding day well in advance,” Linda recommended.
