Your wedding day will be a long day, with lots of walking and standing straight involved! You don't want to let the best day of your life be ruined by excruciating pain from your fabulous six-inch Louboutin's. We've all seen those brides choosing style over comfort and are barefoot before the first dance. On the other hand, high heels are a girl's best friend. They make our legs more elongated, do wonders for our calves and make us look taller. Hence why the pain seems worth it, read on and see how you can reduce pain and dance all night!
Thick, chunky heels are more stable and supportive for your feet than thin stiletto heels.
Thin soled shoes usually give pain on the bottom of your foot. Thicker platform type shoes remove some of the pressure when you're walking.
Open toe shoes take some pressure off corns and calluses. Many brides are wisely purchasing two pairs of shoes-their heels and a pair of flat sandals or pumps for the reception. Don't forget to break in your flats too, they can cause just as many blisters and cuts as high heels!
Make sure the shoes you choose fit properly and there's room to wiggle your toes around.
Once you purchase your shoes, break them in! Wear them around the house and get used to them. This will soften the shoe material and should reduce the chances of the shoe cutting into your foot.
Take your high heels off whenever you get the chance, (in the car on the way to the reception, during the meal etc.) and stretch out your feet.
Bring blister plasters in your bag, they can provide phenomenal relief to raw blisters. We cannot stress enough how much of a saviour blister plasters are for your toes and heels! You can buy gel insoles for your high heels over the counter in most shoe shops or pharmacies. They are inserted into the shoe under the ball of your foot to prevent pain.
Don't forget to bring your chosen shoes to your dress fittings so that the length of the dress corresponds with the height of your shoes.
