The big day is almost here and it is easy to get overwhelmed with all the last minute tasks hanging over your head. Follow this two week to do the list to ensure you are the most organised bride you can be on your special day.
Ensure you’ve appointed people to collect any last minute items and if anyone has any specific roles for the big day, ensure they are aware of and prepared for those. Easily forgotten last minute tasks can include transport for elderly guests, packing everything you need in your overnight bag and having a scheduling in time for a filling breakfast on the morning of the wedding. Organise everything you’ll need on hand on the morning of the wedding to help avoid any last minute panics.
Attend your final gown fitting and ensure you are satisfied with the dress, the accessories and the overall look. Wear your shoes around the house to ensure you have them broken in and that you’re aware of any places where they’re cutting at you. If your husband to be, your bridal party or the groomsmen need to attend any final fittings or collect any items of their attire, it might be wise to remind them to do so too.
With all that’s going on, it can be hard for you and your partner to find time together to just relax and take it all in. Where possible, schedule in some time for one another alone to relax, check in with one another, and appreciate why you’re doing all of this in the first place. It will all be over before you know it and when it is you’ll appreciate having taken this time together to absorb it all.
While we’re sure your day will run smoothly, it’s always helpful to have a few handy tools on hand for unexpected problems. Pack a wash bag with any make up you may need for touch ups throughout the day. You could also pack plasters in case anyone’s heels start to cause problems, and maybe a small sewing kit for the unlikely event of a wardrobe malfunction. Tools for stain removal such as wipes may also be a helpful addition.
Attend your beauty appointments for areas such as tan, nails, waxing and eyelashes. Try to cut down on how often you’re wearing make-up during the next two weeks to avoid breakouts. It’s also best to avoid trying any new products during this time in case of allergic reactions or irritation. Ensure your make-up artist and hair stylist are aware of the time and location of your wedding day appointments.
These last few weeks are when you should be treating yourself and doing whatever you can to stay calm and relaxed. Indulge in some face masks or hair treatments and just generally pamper yourself. Maybe even book a spa day for yourself and a loved one to truly relax and unwind – you deserve it!
Make sure you are looking after yourself in the final few days before the wedding. It is easy for stress or nerves to take over, but ensuring you’re eating well and getting enough sleep is key in avoiding you feeling run down on your big day. Avoiding alcohol and partaking in some light exercise may also be beneficial in the final few weeks. Take a deep breath, relax and enjoy these last few days before you say ‘I do’ – it’ll be over before you know it!
